MEDICAL ENGINEERING
Los circuitos de nuestro coche son su mente y corazón. Aunque a simple vista no lo parezca, son indispensables para el correcto funcionamiento del conjunto de elementos que conforman el monoplaza. Es por eso que, en el equipo eléctrico nos regimos por el “mens sana in corpore sana”. Si la mente de nuestro vehículo falla, no podemos esperar que su cuerpo siga funcionando.
Una vez terminada la fase de desarrollo e implementación de todos los componentes eléctricos, ahora en los equipos de Powertrain y Control dejamos la ingeniería a un lado para dedicarnos a hacer de médicos de cabecera del coche. Testeamos continuamente todas y cada una de las partes que nos corresponden, para así detectar e interpretar los síntomas de enfermedad que pueda mostrar nuestro “paciente” y actuar antes de que vayan a peor. No es un trabajo fácil, pues los problemas no suelen ser visibles a simple vista y requiere un exhaustivo trabajo en comprobar cada cable, componente y conexión. Pero el resultado merece la pena. Encontrar un fallo, por insignificante que sea, nos da la oportunidad no solo de solucionarlo, sino de aprender cual ha sido la causa del fallo y aleccionarnos de cara al futuro. Pues como dijo Confucio: “Me lo contaron y lo olvidé; lo vi y lo entendí; lo hice y lo aprendí”.
Estamos trabajamos muy duro para conseguir un monoplaza fiable al 100% y en pleno rendimiento para verano. Así que, a esforzarse se ha dicho!
The electrical circuits of our car are its mind and heart. Although it may not seem like that from the outside, they are essential for the proper functioning of the group of elements that compound the vehicle. That is the reason why in the electrical team we always work ruled by the “mens sana in corpore sana”. If the mind does not work, how can we expect the body to continue working?
Once finished development and implementation phases of all the electrical components, now in the Powertrain and Control teams we left aside the engineering in order to turn ourselves into the car’s personal doctors. We are continuously testing each and every component belonging to our groups in order to detect and identify the symptoms of disease that may show our “patient” and act before they get worse. It is not an easy labour. Many of these problems are not usually visible for human eye, so they require an exhaustive work in checking every wire, component and connection. But the hard work is totally worth it. Finding an error, even though it may seem meaningless, it brings us the opportunity to learn which the source of the error was and teach us with regard to the future. As once Confucius said: “They told me and I forgot; I saw it and I understood; I made it and I learned”.
We are working very hard in order to have a 100% reliable vehicle and at full performance rate for summer. With that said, let´s exert ourselves!
